Earlier this week I rented a 14-24mm lens for a shoot I was doing down at the National Harbor. It has been one of the three lenses on my wish list for a while now, but this was my first time getting to play with it.
As I showing it to Amanda she snapped this beautiful photo of me, so I returned the favor by taking this one.
It’s a fun lens –not ideal for shooting people unless you want the distortion– but it’s a life saver if you find yourself working in close quarters.
Oh my! Amanda is skinny enough already!
That lens really is great. I had fun with the 17-35 I rented a few months ago. Amazing how much difference there is even just to 14mm. I love wide angle portraits! Platon has is helping bring them into the mainstream. I’m not sure if you’ve seen his stuff, but it really has helped me see how successful wide angle can be, particularly in the case of portraits where we’ve avoided wide angle for so long.
Thanks for the reference, David. I have seen some of his photos before, but I didn’t know who he was. Talk about an incredible portfolio! Check it out, peeps. http://www.platonphoto.com/
