So this is cool: I have been invited to speak to a group of filmmakers, writers, actors, and otherwise creative people in DC. I’m approaching it kind of like Show and Tell in which I’ll be sharing my recent work along with lessons learned and a bit of my personal story as well. I’m quite excited about it!
…and if I’m being honest I’m extremely nervous about it.
It’s not so much the public speaking that scares me, but rather the fact that I have no answers to the questions that keep flooding my head: What can these people actually learn from me? Do I have anything worthwhile or interesting to say? Is it even going to be relevant? etc. All the while suppressing feelings of inadequacy and impostor syndrome…
I will be sharing an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at my trip to South Africa as well as other recent projects. My goal is to share what I’ve learned from a decade of freelancing, and my hope is to inspire others to make good art.
